Backstage Improvement Goals

As one of our major goals in 2009 to continually add value to our content management system, Backstage, the team is working hard to add new features and refine existing features. To achieve this goal, our Backstage clients have been receiving updates each month with new ways to make editing their web site even easier.

"Thank you for listening to your clients and growing Backstage to suit the needs of those people using the program daily." - Holly Watters

Newsletters are sent out each time an upgrade is performed to let users know about the new and/or improved features and collect feedback. Take a look at a recent newsletter update.

The Charleston Renaissance Gallery Uses Backstage!

The Charleston Renaissance Gallery needed a dynamic, updatable web site that was consistent with their established image of being a provider of traditional American art, while at the same time being cutting edge in marketing their business on the web.
The existing database of art pieces used internally needed to be closely linked to the web site so that data can be updated and pieces could easily be marked as sold and automatically taken off the web site. Because the inventory and information on each piece changed frequently, the Charleston Renaissance Gallery team needed needed a way to update their web site quickly and easily.

To keep the web site up-to-date, the Charleston Renaissance Gallery team decided to go with Backstage as their content management system. With Backstage, nearly every area of the site is fully editable. Backstage made it easy for the staff to post new inventory from the internal database. Backstage allows for complete control over content information posted on the site.

“Not only is our public presence elegant and impressive, the behind the scenes management capacity that Backstage provides has streamlined our entire inventory management program and given us the real time editorial capabilities we had previously only dreamt of.” - Lynne Blackmann

Backstage Version 5.1 Released!

Backstage Version 5.1 included updates to the calendar feature located on the Dashboard. Now users can choose between a monthly, weekly, or daily site statistics summary in Backstage. The data is pulled from Google Analytics and provides up-to-date information on the site is doing.

The image manager has the additional option on how the images are viewed: list view. This new image listing view helps users find image easier by arranging images in a list of one item per row giving the ability to view more photos per screen.

Now searching for images, files, or pages is even easier with Backstage's latest improvement to the search feature. This improvement will show results for searches as users type the name of the item they are looking for, which allows them to find your desired item even faster!
